When we consider travelling, we always think of big cities or capitals but rarely of smaller cities. With this article we will take you in the heart of Liège – also known as the Burning city – and make you discover this great place full of treasures. We tried restaurants, went to shops and visited Liège, just for you!

Where to eat?

Because we love good food served in cosy atmospheres, here is a selection of great restaurants for all the food lover out there!

You’ll appreciate the place for its decoration, the atmosphere and the cuisine. You’ll love their bistronomy as they combine perfectly the charm and friendliness of a Bistro with the delectable flavours and refinement of fine dining. The open kitchen enables you to see the Chef in action, we loved it! The staff is young and very welcoming, they’ll make you feel at home! They select high quality products from local productions that respect nature. Let yourself be seduced by the know-how of the bartenders. You can also relax in their cozy lounges, on the terrace or in the garden.

Enjoy a unique moment there for dinner or just for a drink… or two!

This is such a great concept: on one side you have a kitchen showroom and on the other side you have the restaurant. This is a place where you can have a drink, lunch or dinner while admiring the scenery that is offered to you. We love the big fire that makes the place so warm and cosy. It is big enough so you can go with a group of friends. They also organize “one shot” events for companies, anniversaries, weddings, groups, parades, product presentations and themed events. So if you’re in Liège for the weekend and need a great dinner place to take your loved one or if you just want to throw an amazing party, this is the place!

Located in the heart of the city, “La Cucinella” is an authentic style restaurant offering fine Italian cuisine. The restaurant is a family affair, transmitted from father to son. It’s is a mix between modernity and authenticity. We absolutely love the old marble bar and the wine cellar. Regarding the food, it’s speechless! So if you’re in Liège and like Italian food and amazing wine, you have to stop by!

Where to shop?

Shopaholics this one’s for you! If you like concept stores or minimalistic shops with great style, you really need to go! We literally fell in love with their boutiques and, of course, we shopped hard! Don’t tell our hubby…

If you like minimalistic shops where white and gold are omnipresent, you can’t miss this! The shop offers eclectic and chic tastes that are reflected in the brands they sell. For example you can find some great clothes from Anine Bing to Ragdoll LA, Margaux Lonnberg, Magali Pascal, Designers Remix, Ganni and many more! For Ginette beauty rhymes with minimalism and purity. Whether you’re looking for chic basics or elegant and trendy pieces, this is the place! You can also follow them on Instagram, they post very often inspiring outfits. We loved it and we are sure you also will. Thunderbolt assured!

Enough to satisfy all styles and wallets! At once urban, trendy, romantic and bohemian, women always discover tons of surprises from fashion, shoes, accessories to decoration. Essentiel, The Kooples, Scotch & Soda, MKT Studio, Vila, Clio Goldbrenner, New Balance, Bronx, and Cluse are some brands that you can find there. North Sea Store is the unmissable of women’s fashion, which will make you addict!
